Top 3 Landing Spots for Kirk Cousins in Free Agency

Kirk Cousins has been the Minnesota Vikings' quarterback for the past six seasons. Following a season-ending injury, he is now scheduled to hit free agency since it appears the Vikings, under their new leadership, want to start anew and start their quarterback there. Cousins had passed for 2,331 yards, a 69.5% completion percentage, and 18 touchdowns to just five interceptions before suffering an injury, even at the age of 35. Cousins only had one season in Minnesota following Washington where he did not throw for more than 4,000 yards passing. These are the best organizations to target to sign Cousins because he offers consistency at quarterback, even if it's only for a single season.

#3. Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins have seen their best option in Tua Tagovailoa, who has demonstrated he is not going to be their guy. Having said that, Cousins might enter the game and help the offense. Cousins would be very successful in Mike McDaniel's play-action and RPO-heavy scheme, especially when he was throwing to players like Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. The Dolphins' pass game was lacking in downfield opportunities before Cousins joined the team. It also helps that these two are acquainted from their time spent together in Washington in 2013.

Cousins could at least give the youngster a year to sit while still keeping the Dolphins competitive, even if the team chooses to go with a rookie in the draft.

#2. Pittsburgh Steelers

The writing is apparently on the wall for Kenny Pickett, as the Steelers decided not start him in their playoff defeat to the Buffalo Bills, even though he was healthy at the end of the season. Mason Rudolph, on the other hand, had his actual ceiling revealed by the defeat. With two years remaining on his rookie deal, Pickett may still be a top pick in the draft, but the Steelers aren't in a position to acquire one. If Pittsburgh decides to go that way later in the selection, Cousins would be a fantastic mentor for a rookie quarterback and would at least provide them that consistency for a season.

#1. Denver Broncos

Russell Wilson's tenure in Denver has not been successful, and they will probably let him go this offseason. They are well positioned to choose a rookie with the 12th overall pick, but once again, in keeping with the usual pattern, Cousins gives the Broncos two alternatives. He would be an experienced presence on the sidelines while the youngster gets started, or he would let Denver let the rookie sit and study. Although starting Cousins would revolutionize the Broncos passing attack, either scenario would be fantastic. Sean Payton is a coach who knows how to maximize the potential of Cousins more than anybody else.
