3 reasons why Bo Nix will be better than Russell Wilson in the 2024 season

Russell Wilson has essentially replaced Bo Nix with the Denver Broncos through 2024, and the rookie quarterback is a superior player than the former Broncos thrower.

A rookie quarterback might potentially replace many established starters in the NFL and perform better right away. In 2023, CJ Stroud outperformed roughly 80% of the other NFL starting quarterbacks in terms of performance. Is it possible that Bo Nix will perform better in 2024 than some starting quarterbacks? Yes, he very certainly can. In fact, I think he's in the best position of any rookie quarterback for the upcoming season.

But in 2024, would Bo Nix be able to outperform former Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson?

#1 Bo Nix's ceiling is higher.

Bo Nix may surpass Russell Wilson in 2024 for this very evident reason. It is evident that Russell Wilson is past his prime, and his decline appeared to have begun in the 2021 NFL season. For many years in Seattle and occasionally in Denver, Wilson excelled at creating off-schedule plays with his legs. Well, you don't get any faster as you age.

Russell Wilson's skill has significantly diminished as a result of losing the quickness and agility he possessed earlier in his career. Wilson's peak is just gone, and it appears that Sean Payton will be able to extract some value from the quarterback in 2023. Wilson put up impressive numbers on paper, but the attack lacked efficiency.

Furthermore, it is unlikely that Russell Wilson will find himself in a better position in 2024. As the most seasoned collegiate quarterback ever, Bo Nix is a rookie who could play quarterback for the NFL for more than ten years. Based just on that, his ceiling is rather high, and the young quarterback might start to show improvement in the 2024 NFL Season.

#2 Overall, Bo Nix will fit the offense much better.

Bo Nix may surpass Russell Wilson in 2024 for yet another very clear reason. Many felt that Nix would fit in best with Sean Payton and the Denver Broncos during the pre-draft process; Payton has at times likened his rookie quarterback to Drew Brees. And after a while, it seemed like Nix would eventually wind up in Denver.

Payton is looking for a quarterback who can play on time and win from the pocket. The quarterback in this offense needs to be able to snap the ball, hit his dropback, and get rid of the ball because Payton's offense heavily relies on the middle of the field. Additionally, most people believe that it's a complex offense with lengthy play calls.

Russell Wilson did not perform well in the ways that Sean Payton liked to run, therefore the 2023 NFL Season was like attempting to fit a square peg into a round hole. In every way, Bo Nix is a far better fit for the offense than Russell Wilson is.

#3 It appears less and less likely that Russell Wilson will begin play in 2024.

While pushing a sled, Russell Wilson hurt his calf and has been attempting to heal it. Subsequently, backup quarterback Justin Fields has received more playing time while the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback has not been practicing much. It appears like Fields has done enough to be named the stater, or at least that momentum is rising in that direction.

Wilson was thought to be in "pole position" to begin, but as HC Mike Tomlin phrased it, it does not feel at all certain right now. Fields is over ten years younger than Wilson, thus the organization might decide to start him because he has a greater ceiling and is definitely more of a long-term possibility.

Bo Nix is currently favored over Russell Wilson to start for the Broncos over the Pittsburgh Steelers.
