The New York Giants-Carolina Panthers game is a sellout. The Giants say the only seats available for the first regular-season NFL game in the $1.6 billion New Meadowlands Stadium are club PSLs, which don't count in determining whether a game is subject to local blackout rules. The team also said its home game against Dallas on Nov.

New York Giants cornerback Aaron Ross is starting another season waiting for an injury to heal. A year ago, a hamstring injury late in training camp caused Ross to miss the first nine games of the season and limited him to four for the season. His right foot is the issue this year, and it has left the former first-round pick doubtful for Sunday's opener against the Carolina Panthers.

Superstar quarterback Tom Brady has agreed to a lucrative contract extension with the New England Patriots, giving him the highest average salary in the NFL. SI.com's Peter King first reported the news on the halftime show of the Vikings-Saints season opener, and said Patriots owner Robert Kraft told him the deal would officially be announced Friday. The deal tacks four years onto Brady's existing contract, keeping the two-time Super Bowl MVP in New England through the end of the 2014 season.
