Broncos re-sign DL Smith, release 2 other players (AP)

The Denver Broncos have re-signed defensive lineman Le Kevin Smith and released starting inside linebacker Andra Davis. Smith is a fifth-year pro who played in 11 games in his first season in Denver last year after he was acquired from New England in a trade Aug. 17. He started twice. In 42 career regular season games, Smith has had 19 tackles, two sacks and a fumble recovery.

Jurors have reached a verdict in the trial of a man charged with murdering Denver Broncos cornerback Darrent Williams. The decision was expected to be read in court shortly. Defendant Willie Clark was taken to the courtroom Thursday, March 11, 2010,  to hear the decision.

Suspected gang member Willie Clark was found guilty of murder Thursday in the drive-by shooting death of Denver Broncos cornerback Darrent Williams after a New Year's Eve outing three years ago. Clark showed no emotion as the verdict was read, but leaned back and looked at the ceiling once the jury was dismissed.

Suspected gang member Willie Clark has been found guilty of murder in the shooting death of Denver Broncos cornerback Darrent Williams. A Denver jury returned the verdict Thursday after deliberating for a day and a half. Clark could face a sentence of life in prison. There was no immediate word on a possible appeal.

A witness too afraid to testify against the man accused of killing Denver Broncos cornerback Darrent Williams has changed his mind after a night in jail.

Jurors deliberating the case against a man accused of firing the shots that killed Denver Broncos cornerback Darrent Williams went home Wednesday without reaching a decision. Jurors deciding the Willie Clark case will return to the Denver courthouse Thursday morning. Clark is charged with first-degree murder in the New Year's Day 2007 shooting.

Peterson is an eighth-year player who joined the club as a free agent in November 2007 and had 94 tackles, including five sacks, in 42 games for the Broncos.
